You can approach him during the day and simply ask to buy it, or you can sneak into his house at night and steal it while he sleeps. One quest involves stealing something from a man’s house, and gives you an early taste of this reactivity. It’s by no means a perfectly accurate recreation of what life was actually like in the Middle Ages-Henry would probably die of dysentery or something in the first act if it was-but it does a good enough impression of one. And there’s something refreshing about how it trades these familiar fantasy tropes for something more understated and realistic. You’ll never cast a spell, slay a vampire, or fulfil an ancient prophecy.
There are no goblins, enchanted swords, or mages. Kingdom Come is an RPG without the dungeons or dragons. But his spirit and determination keep his head mostly above the water, and he’s an effective guide through the complicated culture and politics of this harsh, unsympathetic medieval world. As he reluctantly leaves his old life behind, becoming a page for a lord who takes a shine to him and finding himself on the frontline of a bloody war, he’s just as overwhelmed by everything as you are. He’s so normal, so unassuming, that his presence provides a firm, relatable foundation for the story. There isn’t much to him, but I think that’s the point. Rather than give in to the hatred fueled by the death of his boyhood, Henry decides to become a man and help in any way that he can against the ramifications of the assault on Skalitz.It helps that Henry is such a likeable hero. Along the way, Henry finds himself embroiled in the affairs of the great lords in the region. Henry's quest then becomes your own to exact vengeance upon those who destroyed his hometown, friends and family. When Skalitz is attacked, both of his parents are killed by the invading forces of Hungarian King Sigismund, led by Sir Markvart von Aulitz. Henry, a resdient of the castle town Skalitz, is the son of a renowned blacksmith. The year is 1403 and the Kingdom of Bohemia is about to be plunged into turmoil. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open-world RPG set in the last throes of the Middle Ages.

Once you have completed the quest Father Simon will teach you how to make the Artemesia Potion needed to cure Phillip. You must speak with a villager there to begin the quest ‘A Man of the Cloth’. The search for Father Simon will lead you to Rovna. The only person in the region who might know how to cure him is Father Simon. She will inform you that he hid among the corpses in Skalitz for days, and may have been poisoned during that time.
Inspecting him will begin the process, as you notice that he has no wounds but is shaking terribly. Note that when you revisit him in a day or two you will have to provide him with more potions.įinally, you will have the task of finding out what is wrong with Phillip from Skalitz. Give the potion to the Insomniac and he will be content for now.
The potion can be purchased from the apothecary in Rattay, or you can use the facilities in Brother Nicodemus’ workshop to make one yourself. You will need to purchase or make a Lullaby potion. Next in line is the Insomniac, who can be cured relatively easily. When the cut scene ends you can get back to helping the sick and wounded. You can disarm him quickly by suggesting that the banquet be held with the refugees. If you choose the first option and decide to be confrontational with the Custodian, you will end up in prison.
